Udupi, Apr 29: The petrol bunk at Tekkatte which was sealed down after it was found that a coronavirus-infected person seated in a truck and travelled illegally, who passed through the petrol bunk had taken bath there, was thoroughly washed with disinfectants on Tuesday April 28. This was done as a precautionary measure by using the vehicle belonging to Kundapur municipality. On April 27, bunk owner and six of the petrol bunk staff were asked to undergone quarantine. Even family members of the bunk owner and staff have been advised to undergo home quarantine.
On Tuesday morning, ASHA workers conducted door to door visits in the petrol bunk's vicinity to collect health information of the people there.

As the truck carrying the infected man had been stopped for three minutes at the Sastan toll plaza, seven staff of the toll plaza have been subjected to quarantine. Developing cold feet at this development, other staff of the toll plaza refused to work. As they have not been attending to their duties, vehicles were allowed free passage at the Sastan toll plaza. Toll collection has since resumed from Wednesday.
District health officer Dr Sudhir Chandra Sooda, said that 12 persons from the Tekkatte petrol bunk and five from Sastan toll gate have so far been admitted for quarantine at SDM Ayurveda Hospital, Udyavar.
