Mangaluru/Udupi, Apr 28: No new cases of coronavirus were reported in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi, on Tuesday, April 28.
As of April 28, a total of 39,562 people have been screened in the district, including 46 on Tuesday. A total of 2,593 samples have been sent for tests so far, out of which 2,036 have tested negative and 21 positive. Seven cases are currently active, and 12 have been discharged. Two patients have died.
A total of 59 persons have been quarantined at NIT-K Suratkal, and 40 in ESI hospital including eight new admissions on Tuesday.
Altogether 6,073 people have completed 28 days of home quarantine.
As many as 297 samples were sent for test on April 28. As many as 101 reports were received today and all of them tested negative. Reports of 536 samples are awaited.
As many as nine people are admitted for observation. As many as 1,751 patients have been treated at fever clinics. Five people have been diagnosed with severe acute respiratory illness (SARI).
In Udupi district, no fresh cases were recorded on Tuesday. Three corona-positive patients have been cured and discharged from hospital.
As per statistics, a total of 3,434 persons, including 87 on Tuesday, have been detected, either with complaints of severe acute respiratory illness or contacts of corona-positive patients. Among them, 2,069 people have completed 28 days of quarantine, including 17 on Tuesday, and 2,820 have completed 14 days of quarantine, including 68 on Tuesday.
A total of 534 people are presently under home quarantine.
Among those who are in hospital quarantine, 37 are high-risk, one low-risk. Fourteen have been admitted to isolation wards on Tuesday, among whom 10 have severe acute respiratory illness (SARI) and two have influenza-like illness (ILI). Altogether, 42 persons are in isolation wards, while 327 have been discharged including 19 on Tuesday.
As many as 37 samples were collected on Tuesday, taking the total to 1,105. These include 11 samples of SARI symptoms, and three with ILI symptoms.
Out of the sample reports received so far, 1,050 have tested negative. Reports of 52 samples are awaited.
