Mangaluru, Apr 28: The deputy commissioner (DC) of Dakshina Kannada district Sindhu B Rupesh, who also happens to be the district magistrate, through a notification issued on Monday, April 27, denotified three containment zones.

After COVID-19 positive cases were reported, the deputy commissioner had issued a notification on April 17 as per which specific areas of the district were declared to be containment zones.

Based on the report of the district health and family welfare officer, the deputy commissioner has now denotified Sajipanadu village in Bantwal taluk, Janatha Colony of Karaya village in Beltangady taluk and Ajjavara village of Sullia taluk that had earlier been notified as containment zones.

These areas have come out of the containment zone restrictions as they have gone without any new coronavirus positive cases since the last 28 days and primary as well as secondary contacts have completed home quarantine in the containment zones as per rules.
