Kundapur: Two arrested for threatening ASHA worker

Kundapur, Apr 28: Two people were arrested on charges of obstructing, threatening and preventing an Associated Social Health Activist (ASHA) worker from discharging her duties on Monday, April 27.

Sandeep Mesta and Mahesh Kharvi are the two people arrested. The two had come home from Bengaluru on April 2. Sandeep was asked to remain in quarantine for 28 days. Asha worker Laxmi C who saw him wandering about during the period of quarantine, had warned him.

Sandeep who got annoyed after the warning, joined his friend Mahesh Kharvi, waylaid Laxmi and threatened to kill her.

A case was registered at Kundapur police station on the basis of complaint by the Asha worker. The duo was then arrested.
