Mangaluru, Apr 21: Shobha S Shinde (28) from Katipalla near Suratkal, who suffered from acute appendicitis breathed her last after writhing for long due to pain on Monday April 20 at her residence at Panvel near Mumbai. She did not get medical facilities in time due to problems created by lockdown, it is learnt.
Shobha had married Sathish Shindhe recently. Since the last three days, Shobha was suffering due to unbearable abdominal pain. Because of lockdown, her husband could not admit her into hospital, it is said.

Sensing that the situation was going out of control, Shobha's family members from Mangaluru contacted Kannadiga Journalists Association Maharashtra president Rons Bantwal, through a journalist here. Rons in turn contacted young entrepreneur and city corporator Santhosh Shetty. Santhosh took steps to arrange for ambulance but before any treatment could be given, Shobha died after struggling with unbearable pain.
After the family gave its nod, funeral was conducted at Panvel.
