Daijiworld Media Network - Dubai (SP)

Dubai, Apr 14: United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced that the expired UAE residency and visit visas will remain valid till the end of this year because of complications arising out of spread of coronavirus pandemic. The announcement was made by spokesperson of ICA UAE at a virtual press meet addressed on Monday, April 13.

The UAE stated that all visas, entry permits and Emirates ID cards will be valid till the end of 2020. Col Khamis Al Kaabi, federal authority for identification and citizenship spokesperson who addressed the media, clarified that all visas and entry permits expiring since March 1 will remain valid till December 2020.

As such, residency visas of expatriates, both within and outside the country and which expired during March will have validity till the end of this year. The visas of visitors who remained in the country since early March 2020 whose visas expired, have also been extended till December this year.

Col Khamis Al Kaabi noted that there are requests from many, both residents and visitors, for joining their families in their native countries. He said that these requests are being examined, duly adding that the ICA is committed to all segments of the society including citizens, residents and visitors.

I have been trying to contact your Amer center from 1st April and also sent email on 11th April as my visa was going to be expired on 14th of April 2020.
However as i was not able to reach your call center and even your mail box was full so i couldn't leave a message in that case i had to renew my visa under pressure to avoid any fines on 13th April and as I didn’t get any advised from amer center.
And i also saw news on 13th April itself that visit visas have been renewed till December 2020.
I was suppose to go back to India as soon as the flighs open. But due to lack of information and no response from amer center i had to renew my visa and i had to borrow money from a friend to do so. I don’t have money to pay rent but As i follow UAE law to avoid any trouble As My country is locked down My family can able to send me money once things will be fine .
Its a request to kindly refund my money as i have to pay rent to stay here and I haven’t paid rent from last 2 months and my owner us keep asking me as his situation is also bad due to Covid 19 . and also need to buy return ticket as soon as my country flights are resumed. I cant stay under anxiety .Kindly help me in this regard. Please help me out of this.
Hope to get a prompt reply from you.

Do not wait till Dec 2020.
There could be rush in December to renew visas. You can pay back the good thoughts by the UAE government by renewing your Visa in advance as soon as the pandemic crisis ends so that you can ease the pressure on government workers in December.

My hats off to the UAE government for extending the validity of residency and visit visas. This was much needed due to the coronavirus disease which has devastated the livelihood of all people around the world. This will give ample time to make plans to return when everything comes to normal not only in UAE but also in the place where they will return. As we all know many passengers are held in Dubai, Abu Dhabi who travelled from other countries and were just transit passengers. They had no way to go back as they have no flights. Many are spending their time in airports and hotels within the limits as they cannot get a transit visa due to restrictions.

Why not not on earth all countries have leaders, administrators and bureaucrats like the ones in UAE?!!!! They think in advance about their citizen/residents and implement ideas benefiting them!

I don't think it is the education. Even we have educated ministers.
I think it is the virtue inherited or the virtues imparted by parents during the growth of the children or an extra nerve of compassion and empathy towards other human beins.

UAE extends the validity of all visas till 31 Dec 2020 considering that the large section of commercial planes is pretty much parked in airports around the world. Governments around the world have much bigger problems to deal with currently than to deal with someone overstaying their visas for matters outside of their control. Sooner or later every country with a sensible government will come out with rules to provide relief to their visa holders.

Is that really such a ‘genius’ of a decision that you are showering all these praises?
