Bengaluru, Apr 8: Coronavirus continues to invade new territories, unwilling to be bogged down by the lockdown exercise. Even though elaborate measures have been taken, hundreds of new cases emerge in the country every day. Many blame the citizens for not strictly complying with the lockdown rules, and those under home quarantine, of mixing with the people.
It is learnt that the doctors forming the state task force for coronavirus control have stressed the necessity to continue lockdown rules at least till the end of April, as the control so far exercised over the pandemic is not satisfactory. The task force is preparing to recommend to the state level committee of the government to continue lockdown in districts where more number of coronavirus positive cases have emerged.
The report to be submitted by the task force will also contain reasons behind its decision to continue the lock down and the likely adverse impact on the health of the people if the government decides against continuing with the lockdown. On the basis of these points, the state government is expected to take a stand before April 13.
The task force has Dr Manjunath of Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences, Dr Devi Shetty of Narayana Health, and vice chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Dr Schidananda and other senior doctors.
