Bengaluru, Apr 7: Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje, has reacted angrily to threat posed by Popular front of India (PFI) that it would file criminal case against her for her statement about people who took part in the Tablighi religious convention at Delhi.
Shobha said that those who had participated in the said religious programme at Delhi should be subjected to strict legal action if they do not offer themselves to be medically tested. "Seventy persons from Belagavi had taken part in the said programme. Out of them, coronavirus infection has been confirmed in the case of eight. In case of others, test reports are awaited. Those who participated in Tablighi convention and quarantined, are behaving improperly with medical staff. They dance and spit in front of the medical staff at the quarantine facility. What is their aim?" she wanted to know.
She said that the PFI had registered several cases against her in the past and that she has no hesitation in facing such cases. "Let them explain what relationship Tablighi has with PFI. Does PFI have another side like two faces of the same coin? Why those who took part in religious programme are not willing to offer themselves for testing?" she wondered.
