Coronavirus: Dakshina Kannada among four districts brought under red zone

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Apr 1: National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has already declared Bengaluru city as coronavirus hotspot. Now, the state government has classified four districts of Karnataka as the red zone.

In addition to Bengaluru, Mysuru, Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada and Chikkaballapur districts have been declared as the red zone by the state government. The officials also said that some rural areas are being grouped as a buffer zone to regulate the spread of coronavirus.

The government has already initiated tough measures in the red zone to exercise control over the dreaded disease. Bengaluru city with a population of over 1.2 crores mostly comprises of IT-related workers. Therefore, a need to be vigilant about the city was felt, said medical education minister, K Sudhakar. He also stressed that there is a need to take additional care in this city.

Tough measures are being taken in the city and districts brought under the red zone. House to house visits to educate people about coronavirus will be intensified and a close watch will be kept on people who have come in contact with quarantined people. The lockdown programme started in these districts will be tightened further.

Around 13 people from Mysuru district have already been confirmed to be suffering from the infection. People of Mysuru and Chamarajanagar areas are worried as some employees of a pharma company in Nanjangud have tested positive. Police patrolling has been intensified in Mysuru and the district has made elaborate arrangements to shift people having contacts with the infected persons from home quarantine to mass quarantine.

Surprisingly, only a set of 6 countries (advanced) are having the maximum incidence & highest fatality rates, but many backward countries the devastation has been nominal; this is a matter of great cocern! Even in China, the infection has not spread beyond Wuhan?

Man made virus for sure... Before releasing the virus, they found out medicine for that which they have not disclosed outside China. Media was strictly under their control. They took all precautionary measures in other states before the break out. Wuhan is a poor state...

Please do not trust the Chinese numbers, they are very much under reported, same had been in the case of SARS. In the case of developing world, the previous strands of this virus namely SARS Corona, MERS, slowed down due to a higher temperature..though too early to comment in the case of COVID 19 but that could be the reason for a steady spread. All the developed countries as you mention are still running at 6 degrees 4 degrees etc. Seen previously a temperature of 30 degrees and above slows down the spread. Just might be the case if not a conspiracy..

    Respected Bhavya Baliga,

If you do not know the facts of the people infected in mangalore then its better that you get educated first and then blame we mangaloreans of being uncivilised and irresponsible as you should know the cases havent increased and they are basically not from mangalore city itself. For your tiny uneducated mind, we mangaloreans stand a risk from the neighbouring city(kasargod) so first learn to get your facts straight and then state us mangaloreans of whatever you mentioned in your statement.

    Peace and Jai Hind

This is not the time to fight my dear brothers and sisters. We are not the only country fighting this Maari. Its all over world except for some few countries.

We have to unite irrespective of caste, creed, community, nation, color, sex etc. Most importantly make our immune system strong, we are Indians, so we always intake ginger garlic. Gargle you mouth with turmeric and salt hot water before sleeping, keep up positive spirit.

If u r in whatsapp, please donot forward anxirty news, forward optimistic news only, remember everyone are not emotionally strong.

Last but not the least our district was always helpful to kasaragod. Kasaragodu people please keep urself in our shoes, if there is a pandemic in your neighboir city, would u welcome that city people.

If you take Mangalore till today there is not a single case. 7 cases what they say from Dakishna Kannada 4 are from Kasargod 1 from Bgatkal, 1 from Puttur and one at uppinaangady. District administration has done a good job by closing the Karnataka Border with Kerala. CM of Kerala is trying his best to get the border open and Sadananda Gowda wants to open. Kerala having 4 International airports and Kasrargod which was with Karnataka have taken by Kerala cannot afford to treat their patients. Their idea may be to pass on the burden on Mangalore. Humanatrain grounds cannot be excercised now putting the lives of Mangaloreans at risk. Local administration to be very careful as the Kasargod MP had gone to the supreme court to get the border open .

Incidentally, a psychic named Sylvia Browne predicted this outbreak:

"Not to make light of what is a very serious, global health threat, but it has come to our attention that a psychic managed to predict the current coronavirus outbreak in 2008.
Her name is Sylvia Browne and over a decade ago, she wrote a book called End of Days: Predictions and Prophecies About the End of the World. It’s not exactly a cheery read but in it, she writes about a “a severe pneumonia-like illness”.

“In around 2020 a severe pneumonia-like illness will spread through the globe, attacking the lungs and bronchial tubes and resisting all known treatments.”

    Another fiction writer too predicted:
The Eyes of Darkness by Dean Koontz has also been credited with predicting the disease. The American author wrote about a man-made virus strain called “Wuhan-400”. Critics have also pointed out the similarities between ‘400’ and 2020.

“They call the stuff “Wuhan-400” because it was developed at their RDNA labs outside the city of Wuhan, and it was the four-hundredth viable strain of man-made microorganisms created at the research center.

Wuhan-400 is a perfect weapon. It afflicts only human beings. No other living creature can carry it. And like syphilis, Wuhan-400 can’t survive outside a living human body for longer than a minute, which means it can’t permanently contaminate objects or entire places the way anthrax and other virulent microorganisms can.”

The above are facts, but do you think it's a coincidence?

DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH & DECIDE!!!

Looks like this CORONA is not going to spare anybody; only remedy is isolation & sprucing up your immune system!! Fortunately, as per WHO, the average mortality rate is <2%; moreover our genetic make-up seems to be more immune to it than the Europeans!
    Fingers crossed!

Red Zone should not be taken offensively ..it is for our protection ..as DK is bordering Kerala and high number of people travelling from Gulf region.. hence its apt decision by the govt .

Maybe due to large population which has to travel outside of he district to make a living ..as there are no job opportunities which can allow a person to make a decent living

Its high time we stop blaming mangaloreans. The native mangaloreans are educated and have been following the rules effectively, if u visit central market or any crowded place its mostly the immigrants from other districts and other states who have been flouting rules.

My dear Bhavya.... Blaming one another is the biggest weakness of all Mangaloreans... I hope, you too are born in Mangalore. Please stop this if you want to prove that you are exceptional. For your kind information all educated/ uneducated Mangaloreans do not live as per your comment. Please tell us are there no issues of any crime or are there no cases of corona virus the place where you are residing now....??? Hope all of you there are cent percent educated....!!! Or d

Mrs Bhavya instead of blindly blaming mangaloreans think and speak. In mangalore there are 7 cases so far and in these none are local mangaloreans. 3 are from kasargod 2 Bhatkal and rest from Dubai. Mangalore is yet not infected but is like curing patients from other places. This is why people were insisting govt not to open borders again. Well how many cases are there in Udupi since there are many educated people there. Not trying to argue but this is according to statistics
