Udupi, Mar 30: Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal, is taking all necessary steps to prepare for challenges and threats posed by the growing pandemic of Coronavirus (COVID 19).
With active support of the Udupi District administration and Government of Karnataka, MAHE has dedicated Dr TMA Pai Hospital, Udupi, to treat all positive COVID-19 patients, said Dr H S Ballal, pro-chancellor MAHE.
He further said, “Dr TMA Pai Hospital has 100 beds with 11 ICU beds, 15 HDU beds, 36 bed single rooms which can be used for isolation purpose, 43 general beds facility and a fever clinic. Our team of doctors from Kasturba Hospital and Dr TMA Pai Hospital, dedicated team of nursing, para medical staff and housekeeping staff will manage the situation 24X7.”
“Kasturba Hospital, Manipal is currently treating 3 positive COVID-19 patients referred by Udupi District Hospital and Karkala Taluk Hospital. MAHE does not compromise with quality. Hence, we are prepared to give treatment at TMA Pai hospital. The shifting process will end by tomorrow. We are ready with necessary equipment and staff,” he said.
