Bhatkal, Mar 27: After a 72-year-old man who travelled from Mumbai to Bhatkal on March 18 tested positive for coronavirus, the officials of Maharashtra have been sounded as his three co-passengers in the train from Mumbai had alighted at Ratnagiri.
The man had returned from Dubai and taken Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus-Mangaluru train. His three co-passengers got down at Ratnagiri but they had not provided their contact information when booking tickets, railway officials have said. On Tuesday, Konkan Railway officials received information about the man having been tested positive for the presence of deadly virus during tests conducted at Udupi. Konkan Railway's chief public relations officer L K Verma, informed that out of the 20 passengers who got down from the said train in different stations in Maharashtra, it got list of 17 with phone numbers and the same was provided to state health officials.
The COVID - 19 positive passenger had travelled by the lower berth of S3 coach of the said train that reached Bhatkal on March 18. The officials have requested passengers who had travelled by this coach to contact helpline numbers, 104, 080-46848600 or 080-66692000.
