Good gesture by Mr. Oscar. However, I thought MPs get 5Cr per (https://www.mplads.gov.in/MPLADS/UploadedFiles/MPLADSGuidelines2016English_638.pdf) year to spend on their constituency. Entitlement is 5Cr per year. At a time he can have it disbursed to the district admin, is 2.5 Cr. 1 Cr is a lot, but would that be sufficient?
Secondly, if you go through the link, most likely this 1Cr will never be released as it will not satisfy the criteria. So, shall we call spade a spade?

It certainly is a nice gesture. But don't call it a donation. After all, it is the people's money, our money. You are insulting the tax payer by calling it a donation from Oscar or anybody else. We are grateful to him for channelling the tax payer's money to a good purpose.

What is great about this? MPLAD scheme is meant for developmental works in the constituency for the benefit of the people (particular constituency chosen by the RS member). It would have been nice if he had donated his personal funds or his MP salary, which would have come from him. Why should he get credit for donating funds from MPLAD scheme?

Whatever it is. Thank him for his generousness. Even if all our politicians from all the parties and all big shot people show their generosity in this difficult situation just imagine our India's all poverty will disappear.

If I'm not wrong each year they get 5 crores which is 25 crores for 5 years. Where he has spent those 25 crores for local development????
I would have appreciated if he had given 1 lakh from his salary instead 1 crore from the MPLAD FUND.

Perhaps you should have done this when P Chidambaram urged the government to order an "immediate lockdown of all our towns and cities for 2-4 weeks" on the 19th of this month
