Mangaluru, Mar 21: In two different accidents which occurred within the limits of Kadri police station here, two persons lost their lives. One of them was a student.
Pranvit Alva (19), an engineering student and resident of Peral, Badagannur in Puttur taluk, who was riding a motorbike, lost his life in one of the accidents. In another accident, a pedestrian identified as Ashok Kumar (51) from Padavu Saktinagara, was killed.

Pranvit, a second year civil engineering student of Mangalore Institute of Technology and Engineering near Moodbidri, was going towards Jodukatte from Bikarnakatte at around 2.30 pm in his motorbike when he lost control over the vehicle on the highway near the Fernandes Cashew Factory at Maroli. His bike then hit an electric pole and also a lorry that was parked by the roadside. Pranvit, who suffered grave injuries to his head and face, breathed his last at a private hospital here at 7.30 pm.
Ashok Kumar from Padavu, Shaktinagara, was trying to cross national highway 66 near Artic Furniture shop at Nanthoor Junction at about 9.45 pm on Thursday when a speeding Tavera vehicle hit him. Driver of Tavera vehicle, Pradeep, immediately took him to a private hospital in his vehicle. But Ashok, who had suffered deep wounds in chest and head, breathed his last at 1.20 am on Friday.
Both the cases were registered in traffic (east) police station.
