Bengaluru, Mar 20: The state government which got malls and theatres closed in the state over coronavirus (COVID-19) scare has ordered for closure of bars and pubs till March 31. However, there is no mention of wine stores. As the bars will remain closed, people will be able to buy alcoholic beverages only from wine stores.
The state government is taking sufficient measures to decrease the effect of coronavirus. The government order states that no bars or pubs should be opened from Saturday, March 21 till March 31. The order applies to the entire state.
The government has also ordered for suspension of foodservice in restaurants and cafes. However, the practice of taking food parcels to homes is permitted.
As the government has not restricted liquor sales in wine shops, they are likely to remain open except during ‘Janata Curfew’ on Sunday, March 22.
