Beltangady: Hit by tipper, motorbike rider suffers serious injuries

Beltangady, Mar 13: After a tipper truck collided with a motorbike near Kattarigudde Cross in Chibidre village in the taluk on Wednesday, March 12 afternoon, the bike rider suffered severe injuries.

The motorbike rider, identified as Ashok (30) from Nalilu House in Chibidre, was moving in his two-wheeler towards Kakkinje from the direction of Ujire when a tipper that was going towards Ujire from Kakkinje dashed against him. Because of the force of the accident, Ashok was tossed to the road and suffered extensive injuries to various body parts including eyes and head.

The injured rider was admitted at Krishna Hospital in Kakkinje and then moved to a private hospital at Mangaluru as he was found to be in need of advanced facilities. The tipper driver drove away without stopping after the accident.

A complaint was filed in Beltangady police station. The tipper has been found and confiscated by the police.
