Mangaluru: DYFI protesters arrested near Padua Junction ahead of CM Siddaramaiah's visit

Mangaluru, Jan 11: Police have arrested DYFI representatives who were planning to protest at Padua Junction on Saturday, January 11, demanding the suspension of Police Commissioner Anupam Agrawal.

The protesters intended to display placards and attempt to gherao Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s vehicle.

Siddaramaiah is expected to arrive between 5 pm and 5:30 pm on his way to Naringana Kambala. In anticipation of the protest, heavy police forces were stationed at Padua Junction to prevent any disruption during the chief minister’s visit.

B K Imthiyaz and other DYFI leaders raised slogans against Police Commissioner Anupam Agrawal before being arrested by the authorities.
