Mangaluru, Mar 7: The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) conducted an awareness programme on prevention of coronavirus COVID-19 at Mangaluru International Airport on Saturday, March 7.
The NDRF was deployed by the Regional Response Centre of 10th BN National Disaster Force, Karnataka.
The NDRF team was led by assistant commissioner Venkata Praveen Reddy Kuna and his team of 4 officers.
The team gave details on coronavirus (COVID-19) and the associated symptoms related to COVID-19. They also held a live demonstration on using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
The stakeholders were sensitized on handling passengers affected with COVID – 19 and precautions to be taken for dealing with affected passengers.
The queries raised by the stakeholders were clarified.
Airport director V V Rao, AC Customs Kapil, DC CISF, Immigration, officers from Customs, CISF, AAI and Airlines were present.
Hazel Concessao, PA to airport director welcomed the NDRF officers and also raised vote of thanks.
The COVID-19 awareness programme was done in coordination with Disaster Management Authority officer Vijaya Kumar Pujar from the district administration.
