Bengaluru, Mar 3: The annual second pre-university (PU) examination with state syllabus is scheduled to commence on Wednesday March 4. The department of PU education has fully prepared itself to hold the examination without any hiccups. Teams of chief superintendent, joint chief superintendents, special vigilance squads, and district and taluk level vigilance squads have been formed with the deployment of about 3,500 officers and other staff to see that there is no compromise anywhere.
A total of 1,016 examination centres have been set up to hold second PU examination without any deficiency. Room supervisors have also been assigned with their tasks. Officials in the department said that the officials heading the squads have been given instructions about the centres to be visited by different squads, and what to be checked.

All kinds of discussions and security aspects have been in place at the district level, where deputy commissioners are in charge of affairs. Vehicles carrying examination question papers and answer sheets from the district treasury and examination centres are being provided with GPS. CCTV s provided to examination centres will be directly monitored from the offices of the deputy commissioner.
The strong room of PU education department at Malleshwara here too will be closely guarded and the examinations will be held without leaving any room for goof up, the officials said.
As many as 6,80,498 students will be appearing for the examination which will be held from March 4 to 23. Out of them, 90,992 are repeat students while 27,976 are private candidates. As many as 2,01,659 students will be taking the examinations in arts faculty, 2,61,833 in commerce, and 2,17,006 in science.
