BCCI Issues 'final warning' to Errant Sreesanth

New Delhi, Oct 13 (PTI): Indian cricket's enfant terrible S Sreesanth has been given a "final warning" by the BCCI to mend his on-field behaviour, failing which he would be suspended from domestic matches.

The latest Board missive, dated October 5, was sent to Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) secretary T C Mathews to be handed to the player.

BCCI has warned Sreesanth against repeating the on-field misbehaviour he showed during the recent Irani Cup championship against Mumbai in Nagpur.

"You are hereby given a final warning to ensure that you do not violate the BCCI Code of Conduct. Any repetition of such behavior will be dealt with severely by the BCCI including suspension from domestic cricket matches," the letter read.

"As an international cricketer, you have to set a good example for the youngsters who watch and follow the game," it said.

"We have to bring to your kind notice that repeatedly you have been violating the BCCI Code of Conduct and your behaviour on the field of play is against spirit of the game of cricket," it added.

Sreesanth, playing for Rest of India team, was fined 60 percent of his match fee for abusing Mumbai all-rounder Dhawal Kulkarni, who was also warned.

Sreesanth's Behaviour is like dog's tail, nayida beela da lekka avu yepala donke. He is a shame to Indian cricket what I feel. I never seen a Keralite hate any Malayalam speaking person whatever his religion. Sreesanth is a first malbari hated by every keralite though,he is such young prospect of Indian cricket. particularly in this stage we need a fast bowler for the Australian series.

He is an arogant brat, thinks too much of himself. May be the media/Television attention he is getting due to his monkey tricks on field, and publicity out of TV/Reality shows etc, Has got into his head. He should realise that once he is out of International cricket, no one will even remember him..! So let him better start mending his ways before getting too late

No doubt that Sreesanth is a good player and has made India proud many times. He cannot control his aggression on field at all.He doesnt have sportsman spirit at all.I guess too much of money and fame at ver young age has got into his head.Hope he realises that his antics do not impress anyone. We love aggression but not monkey antics on the cricket field. He needs to respect other players so that he gains respect from them.

Vah!!! This is a very good national(domestic) award. BCCI has taken a right decision. BCCI has sufficiently warned Sreesanth against repeating the on-field misbehaviour. As an international cricketer, he has to set a good example for all who watch and follow the game. He should behave as a gentle man and not as…!? This decision also conveys a message to all other Cricketers who say “Ma ki kassam’.
