Kasargod: Kedambady Ismail murder case - Police arrest wife, paramour

Kasargod, Jan 24: Manjeshwar station police have arrested wife and a neighbour man in the murder case of Majeshwara Pavooru Kedambadi Ismail (50).

The arrested are identified as Ayisha (30) and Mohammed Hanif (35).

Ismails body was found at his home with rope tied around his neck. The relatives who had thoroughly checked the dead body of Ismail had registered a complaint with the police as they did not see the mark of rope on the neck.

During spot inspection by the police, Ayisha, wife of the deceased had said that Ismail had committed suicide and later his body was brought down by her with the help of Hanif, the other accused in the case. Police had registered a case of unnatural death and sent the body to Periyuaram medical college for post mortem.

During the post mortem of the body, it came to light that Ismail was murdered by strangulating his neck. When the police arrested Ismail’s wife on suspicion, she confessed to the crime. It is revealed during the investigation that Ayisha had paid Rs 10,000 to Hanif to kill her husband Ismail.

The investigating team has also unearthed that Ayisha and Hanif had illicit relationship.
