Karkala, Sep 19: The fourteenth Coastal Students Literary Meet will be held at Moodbidri, near here on Saturday October 10, under the aegis of Mitra Mandali, Kota, and Shree College, Moodbidri. Meanwhile, the last date to enroll for various competitions and for the chairmanship of the Literary convention will be Friday September 25, announced Shree College founder, Shekar Ajekar, and Upendra Somayaji of Mitra Mandali, Kota, in a joint statement.
The chairmanship for the literary convention will be awarded to an accomplished graduate or post graduate litterateur from Dakshina Kannada (DK), Udupi or Kasargod districts and also from Mumbai. The students, who have made their significant mark in literary sphere, will be felicitated on the above occasion. The achiever students are advised to forward their applications along with supporting documents with recommendations from their respective college principals or heads of the department of Kannada.
The competitions will held in writing critical article on great litterateur Shivaram Karanth’s novels and his columns, not exceeding three pages. In-land letter story competitions will also be held. The winners will have a chance to present their articles at the convention. Poetry competition, photography competition (8 inches x 12 inches in size), mobile pictures competitions (4 inch x 6 inches or 2 inches x 3 inches on any digital collections), will also be held at the occasion.
The students studying in professional courses of engineering and medicine including degree and post graduate colleges, from DK, Udupi, Kasargod and Mumbai can also participate in the competitions.
