Kundapur, Jan 12: Narayana Mogaveera (58), who accidentally fell into the sea after slipping from a boat while fishing in deep waters near Gangolli on the evening of January 2, is still untraceable.

Coast guard police, local fishermen, police personnel, diving expert Dinesh Kharvi, and others have been searching for Narayana since the day of the incident but have not been able to locate him.

A team led by diving expert Eshwar Malpe also joined the search operation. Eshwar Malpe urged the administration to deploy a helicopter to search for the missing fisherman along the coast from Gangolli to the Goa border.

MLA Gururaja Gantihole visited the family members of the missing fisherman and assured them of efforts to find Narayana as soon as possible, offering words of encouragement and support.

Fishermen have appealed to the district administration for assistance. They explained that Narayana's family is financially struggling and cannot afford the cost of diesel for boats to continue the search.
