Bantwal: Police intercept vehicle – One arrested, cattle rescued

Bantwal, Oct 25: In a raid conducted by Vittal police on Thursday, October 24 at Mundattaje near Barebettu in Kolnadu village, a vehicle in which cattle were being transported illegally to a slaughterhouse in Kerala was intercepted and a person was arrested. The vehicle was confiscated and two cattle were rescued.

The arrested man happens to be Usman Shaffi (28) from Salethur Katte. Station house officer of Vittal, S Yallappa, who got information about the fact that Shaffi was transporting cattle in a mini tempo to Kerala via Kodapadavu Karai road, stopped the vehicle with the involvement of two constables of the station.

A case was also registered in Vittal station against Siddique from Kattattila, who was riding a motor bike as security escort for the Omni and was closely following it.
