Brahmavar: Two-wheeler, lorry accident - Pillion rider killed

Brahmavar, Oct 25: In an accident which happened on Thursday, October 24 evening near Dharmavara here, a lorry and a two-wheeler Honda Activa collided and got involved with an accident. In this accident, Raunak Suvarna (35), who was seated on the pillion of the scooter, lost his life. Rider of the two-wheeler, identified as Shashidhar, escaped unscathed.

Both Suvarna and Shashidhar happened to be employees of the car dealer, Nexa, Udupi. They were travelling to Mabukala near here to meet prospective customers. Near Dharmavara, a Maruti Omni van which was moving in front of them suddenly slowed down and turned to left without any indication. The rider tried to slow down the speed of the vehicle, at which a lorry following the vehicle hit the vehicle from behind, it is said.

Even after hitting the scooter, the lorry dragged the two-wheeler for some distance. Raunak Suvarna, who suffered severe injuries to his head, died on the spot. The lorry escaped from the spot after the accident.

It is learnt that Raunak, who was from Shivamogga, started to live at Abalpady here since some time. He was a newlywed.
