Mangaluru: MCC election code of conduct - Meeting venue shifted to Bantwal

Mangaluru, Oct 24: As election code of conduct has been in force in view of the announcement of election for Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC), many important meetings are now being held at Bantwal instead of the city. On Wednesday October 23, meetings of standing committees of Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayat were held at the taluk panchayat auditorium, Bantwal.

At the meeting of standing committee for education and health, topics like encroachment of water bodies, preservation of food quality, compulsory sewage treatment plant, setting aside ten acres of land in every village etc were discussed.

In the general standing committee meeting presided over by zilla panchayat vice president Kasturi Panja, chief executive officer Dr R Selvamani participated.

The meeting of standing committee on health and education was presided over by chairperson of the committee Anita Hemanath Shetty.
