Bengaluru, Oct 23: The police, who usually take action against the civilians for violating road rules, themselves were at the receiving end of action under traffic rules.

The police personnel who got caught on the wrong foot happen to be Sadashivanagar police assistant sub-inspector Somashekhar, and head constable, Manjunath. The additional city police commissioner has ordered to penalize these two policemen for offending the law.

The violation of traffic rules by the policemen had been posted in the twitter account, 'commonman' with photograph, duly tagging the same to city police commissioner Bhaskar Rao. The photo showed the two policemen riding motorbike in one-way road against the traffic flow on Sankey Road in the city. People had expressed their anger at the way police, who keep penalizing the people for violating rules, in a large way.

Taking note of this situation, additional police commissioner (traffic) Ravikanthe Gowda, has ordered action to be taken against the erring police personnel as per Motor Vehicles Act. The fine has been imposed for driving the vehicle in one-way road and for reckless driving.
