Karkala, Oct 14: “Janaushadha centers have created a new revolution in the health sector. The centers were opened so that poor people may not lag behind in matters of health. All need to make use of them,” said Karnataka Bank Udupi division general manager, Gopalakrishna Samaga.
He was speaking after inaugurating Janaushadhi health camp and distribution of Janaushadhi medicines under the leadership of Sauharda Co-operative Society Limited and prime minister’s Janaushadhi center Belman at Durgapriya complex, Belman on Monday.
Sauharda Co-operative Limited president, Dr B N Shantapriya who presided over said that healthy India along with clean India is their aim. “We intend to increase eight Janaushadhi centers to 25 by December.”
Nodal officer, Dr Anil Deepak Shetty said that Udupi has third position in the state with regard to centers and has become a model in distribution of Generic medicines. “Resentment toward the centers should be set aside,” he said.
Belman’s popular doctors, Dr Balakrishna Alva, Taranath Shetty, Dr Fouzia, Dr Dikshita, Dr Kulala, Dr Navinchandra Prabhu and Dr Premlatha were felicitated.
Belman gram panchayat president, Varija Kotian, entrepreneur Harish Tantri, Sadguru company director Vinay Kumar, Ganesh Prasad Chadaga were present. Suresh Beedu compered the programme.
Expert doctors conducted medical examinations and distributed free medicine.
