Mangalore: City to Have Passport Office by October

Mangalore, Jul 28: The city will get its own passport office in the last week of September or in the first week of October, said a press release issued by Ivan D’Souza, vice-president, district congress committee, after a delegation met the state passport officer R Raveendra recently.
 
The delegation led by D’Souza urged the state passport officer to quicken the work on setting up its office in the city. The office will be set up near Navabharath Circle, and work on its interior is still pending.

Meanwhile, a memorandum was also sent to union external affairs minister S M Krishna, stating that the passport office should be a full-fledged one with all facilities, added the release.

    The need of a passport office anywhere in D.K. and International Airport was a need 25 year''s ago. It''s really painful to notice that state govt never took any initiative toward''s this,Though the highest no of applicants were from the district. Its better to have the passport office in a place where it will be convienient for both the twin district''s to apply and get the necessary done.

    No use of anything. because unless you dont give money file will get stuck in police station and other desks. same thing is happening in bangalore. it takes months for one week tatkal

    This is a good news for people who are the residents of Coastal area. Issuing a Passport at Mangalore this will surely help the residents at Coastal area of Karnataka. Even a small mistake made by Passport office at Bangalore all the way we have to go back to Bangalore again. Now we can easily solve our problems at Mangalore. Thank you our Union External Affairs Minister S.M.Krisha.
