MYSORE, Jul 27 (The Hindu): Sri Rama Sene chief Pramod Muthalik, who has been remanded in judicial custody till August 7, was shifted to Bellary prison on Sunday.
He was arrested by the Mysore police in Belgaum on Friday on charges of inciting communal violence at Kyathamaranahalli here on July 2.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) V.S. D’Souza said: “He ( Muthalik) has already reached Bellary and lodged in the prison there.” The police had decided to shift Muthalik to Bellary on Saturday night.
However, due to “health” reasons, he was taken to the government-run K.R. Hospital for medical examination.
Muthalik’s bail plea will come up for hearing in the court on July 28.
