Bengaluru: MLA Yatnal gets BJP notice for publicly condemning centre

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Oct 5: MLA and BJP leader Basanagouda Patil Yatnal had openly criticized the central government for its failure to release funds towards flood relief for Karnataka. The central office of BJP has served him show cause notice for his utterances.

On Friday, the BJP leadership said that Yatnal's statements had violated party discipline and sought from him an explanation as to why disciplinary action should not be initiated against him, within ten days. BJP's central disciplinary committee member-secretary, Om Pathak, has issued this notice.

Yatnal has been warned that if he fails to provide satisfactory explanation to the notice, he would be subjected to disciplinary action by the party as per rules. By way of response, Yatnal said that he is committed to his earlier statement and that he had spoken only about non-release of grant.

Reacting to the development, tourism minister, C T Ravi, said that he too had commented about the flood relief but he has not received any notice. He felt that it is not wrong to seek flood relief grants from the centre, but as it is a party matter, it should have been raised in a party forum and not in the public.

not to worry, Basanagouda patil Yatnal! You will do well to quit the BJP and seek re-election - even as an Independent. You have raised relevant issues and the BJP is too egoistic to admit it slept. And nobody listens to poor Yediyurappa anyway.

There will be difference of opinion everywhere ! expressing it publicly which is wrong rather opted to closed door discussions but it seems no one listening to him ! perhaps only option left for him that to take it for the public which he has done the right thing ! In Democracy, should be transparent discussions regardless any party which is betterment of our country in this regard PARTY is not important here.

The PM Modi headed BJP Government’s inability to take criticism is ‘sure-fire recipe for policy errors,’.

“What makes India strong is its diversity, debate, and tolerance. What makes it weak is narrow-mindedness, obscurantism, and divisiveness,”.

He wondered how long the government takes to realize that it has to face the harsh truths. The government if every critic gets a call to back off, or to stop criticizing; the government will get a happy make-believe scenario, but will that be enough to evade problems?

Last week, the Narendra Modi government had removed Rathin Roy and Shamika Ravi from the economic advisory council to the Prime Minister. Both had criticized some of the government’s policies.

An attempt to impose a uniform majoritarian culture on everyone can kill minority community characteristics that can be very advantageous to growth and development. Cultural diversity can promote intellectual diversity and intellectual ferment, something every economy at the frontier needs.

The BJP has released fewer funds of Rs1,200 less than the 'operation Kamala'. During 2009 floods Dr. Manmohan Singh surveyed the affected areas & announced ₹1,500 Cr relief funds immediately. When BS Yeddyurappa was the CM o Karnataka during that time.

Why BJP is generous giving 'Alms' to the Kanndigas despite state paying one of the highest taxes in India?

Earlier on Friday, former Mumbai Congress chief Sanjay Nirupam also had alleged that party has been taken over by sycophants and those close to Rahul Gandhi are being sidelined deliberately.

However, Congress has rejected this charge made by Nirupam and said everybody should restrain from speaking.

New thing I learnt. According to BJP Govt a baby care taker should not ask food for baby with its mother to feed baby. She should whisper in mothers ears so that no body should know the baby is hungry..

Govt can pay fishermen,s loan though they are paying only 2% interest. Delaying the flood relief for the farmers though they are suffering.
