Bantwal: Thieves steal lacs of rupees from petrol bunk at Kuddupadav

Bantwal, Oct 4: As per reports, thieves who entered the office of a petrol bunk located on national highway at Kuddupadav near Vittal in the taluk, escaped after stealing lacs of rupees. The incident happened in the early hour of Wednesday, October 2.

The petrol bunk in question belongs to Devasya Rajashekhar Chowta. The thieves broke open the lock of the shutter, went inside, and carried with them the entire safe locker. As per an estimate, there was Rs 4.3 lac inside the locker.

Sniffer dogs and finger print experts visited the spot and conducted survey. The CCTV cameras in the area showed two persons engaged in the theft, it is said. Vittal police visited the spot along with probationary sub-inspector Rajesh and sub-inspector, Yallappa.

A complaint stands filed in Vittal police station in this connection. This theft comes close on the heels of serial thefts which happened in five shops by the side of the highway near Vittal last week.

    why leave back such a big amount in bunk ?without any security.besides cctv camera should have installed a silent alarm who enters inside or brake open.I am sure one who knew the big amount inside broke open.fingerprints and sniffer dogs?where will they search?Thieves are long back in their homes enjoying beer..
