Bengaluru, Sep 24: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials who are probing the multi-crore IMA scam, on Sunday September 22, questioned additional police commissioner (administration), Hemant Nimbalkar.
Nimbalkar arrived at the CBI office at Ganganagar at about 11 am. He was grilled for over three hours, after which he was let go with the instructions that the officer will have to present himself for questioning in future as and when required.
There were allegations that the favourable report was issued after accepting money. CBI questioned him in this background.

Before the scam was unearthed, Reserve Bank of India chief manager, K S Jyotsna, had complained about IMA. Criminal investigation department's department of economic offences led by the then inspector general of police Hemant Nimbalkar, had given clean chit to IMA.
Ajay Hillori
IPS officer, Ajay Hillori, was functioning as deputy commissioner of police in 2017 when IMA scam came into the open. Therefore, CBI officials are likely to question him, it is said.
