Bengaluru, Sep 23: Leaders of JD(S), on Sunday, September 22, accused chief minister (CM) B S Yediyurappa of giving priority to the victims of Operation Lotus (17 disqualified MLAs) over the victims of the recent deluge that affected many districts of the state. This statement comes in the wake of the CM's visit to New Delhi.
"The chief minister seems to be focusing only on saving his position and is least bothered about the issues faced by the public of Karnataka. He is putting in all efforts to save his government and that is why he is visiting New Delhi every now and then," said H D Deve Gowda, former Prime Minister and JD(S) supremo.

H D Kumaraswamy, former CM of the state, also accused CM Yediyurappa of playing drama by going to Delhi in order to protect and save the disqualified MLAs, who made the BJP assume power in the state by bringing down the coalition government of JD(S) and Congress.
In his tweet Kumaraswamy said, "The statement of B S Yediyurappa that he has gone to Delhi in order to seek funds for the flood victims is a big farce. The real reason behind his trip is to protect and promote the interests of the rebel MLAs, who are disqualified because of Operation Lotus. Yediyurappa is trying to save the disqualified MLAs by using the high handedness of Amit Shah."
The state BJP government is being criticized vehemently by the state opposition parties for not taking any interest in providing flood relief to the victims of the recent deluge that affected mainly the northern parts of the state. Former CM and senior Congress leader Siddaramaiah recently accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of avoiding CM B S Yediyurappa by not giving him any appointment to discuss the flood relief funds matter.
