Mangaluru, Sep 16: Deputy commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh urged people to verify their names in the voters’ list.
Addressing media here on Monday, September 16, Sindhu Rupesh said, "As per the orders of the Election Commission (EC), there will be inspection of voters list and revision of the same, which will be conducted from September 1 to October 15. During the Lok Sabha elections, there were several complaints with regards to error in voter ID such as error in names, address, photo etc. In order to correct these errors, the EC has passed this order to conduct an inspection of the voters’ list.
"BLOs will visit to every house to conduct the inspection of voters’ list. Voters can confirm their names in voters’ list, through voter helpline app and web portal www.nvsp.in by producing relevant documents. It also has a provision to change photo. One can call helpline number 1950. After the changes are made, the revised voter ID will be issued to the concerned person.
“All the voters can check and verify EPIC number in NVSP portal with their registered mobile number and also verify the details of all family members and link through the registered number on NVSP portal,” she said.
When asked about state committee visit to Pacchanady, she said, "State committee will visit the Pacchanady dump yard on September 19 to access the damage occurred due to garbage slide and report will be submitted.”
