Udupi, Sep 13: Thieves broke into a house in broad daylight on Thursday, September 12 at Olakadu, 76 Badagabettu and took Rs 22 lac in cash and half kg of silver that was kept in various boxes in the kitchen of the house.
Sunanda Manikya Patil (30), wife of Manikya Patil, a resident of Bhagavathi Kripa, Chatrapathi Shivaji Road, Harishchandra Road, Olakadu, 76 Badagubettu, had been to Mukundakripa School at around 12.15 pm on Thursday, September 12 in order to give lunch to her children who are studying in the said school.
When Sunanda returned to her home at around 1 pm after giving lunch to her children, she could not open the lock. On close look it came to light that the lock is broken and someone had entered the house. When Sunanda checked in the kitchen, she could not find Rs 22 lac in cash that was kept in various boxes in the kitchen as well as half kg silver worth Rs 30,000.
It is said in the complaint filed that this theft is committed by Atul Bagne, a resident of Sangli and relative of Sunanda's husband and his accomplice.
A case in this connection was filed at Udupi city police station.
