Mysuru: Wife of Maharashtra CM to perform at Dasara festival

Mysuru, Sep 12: District in-charge minister V Somanna, informed that Amruta Fadnavis, wife of Maharashtra chief minister (CM) Devendra Fadnavis, will present music programme during the Dasara festival here.

He was speaking to media persons. "Amruta requested us to give her an opportunity to sing at the Dasara programme. We have agreed to her request. However, we have asked her to come alone, duly pointing out that there will be security problems if her husband accompanies her," he explained.

Somanna said that 'Open Street Festival' which was introduced two years back to attract youngsters, will not be held this time. He stated that a new programme in which culture and traditions of the state will be showcased, would be presented. Dasara cultural programmes will be held in nine daises including the one in front of the palace. "We will finalize the names of artistes within two days. The cultural programmes will be inaugurated by CM B S Yediyurappa, at the dais set up in front of the palace at 6 pm on September 29. On the occasion, he will also present 'Sangeeta Vidwan' award," he said.
