Chikkamagaluru, Sep 11: Karnataka state Sri Ram Sene working president, Gangadhar Kulkarni, said that Sri Ram Sene would be leading the Datta Mala Abhiyan from October 6 to 13. He was addressing a press meet here on Tuesday September 10.
The programme of wearing 'Datta Mala' will be held at Shankar Math here at 9 am on October 6. From then, those who wear the Mala will observe austerities. A meeting will be held near Shankar Math at 9.30 am on October 13. A procession will be taken from there to Azad Park via M G Road. Devotees of Lord Datta from various parts of the state and elsewhere will participate," he explained.
After the procession, the devotees will leave tor Datta Peeta where they will pay respects to the Datta Paduke. Religious meeting, fire sacrifice, and puja will be held at the hill. National president of the organization, Pramod Mutalik, Punan Kashmir national convener, Rahul Kaul, members of Hindu Janajagruti Vedike, sages etc will be taking part," he stated. He urged home minister, Basavaraj Bommai, and union minister, Prahlad Joshi, who have announced their support for cow slaughter ban, to do the needful at the earliest.
State vice president of the Sene, Mahesh Kumar, general secretary, Anand Shetty Adkar, regional president, Abhilash, district unit president, Ranjit Shetty and Durga Sene district president, Sharadamma, were present.
