Moodbidri, Jul 5: The members of the Working Journalists’ Association here celebrated Press Club Day at their association auditorium on Saturday July 4.
Bhaskar Hegde, head, department of journalism, Ujire Sri Dharmasthala Manjunateshwar (SDM) College, felicitated Raviraj Kumar, former reporter, Kannada daily ‘Hosa Diganta’ who is presently working as a teacher at Jain High School, for his contributions in highlighting the local issues while working with ‘Hosa Diganta’.
Local businessman Vishwanath Prabhu said that he used to follow the reports of Raviraj Kumar that are published in the Kannada dailies ‘Navabharat’ that used to be published from Mangalore, and ‘Udayavani’, published from Udupi.
Association president Ganesh Kamath presided over the programme.
Association member Dhananjaya Moodbidri delivered a talk on how the great inventor Thomas Alva Edison pursued journalism in his research, thereby inspiring budding journalists to excel in their chosen career in life.
Shanker Naik, Sadananda Hegdekatta, Seetaram Acharya, and Govardhan Hosamani were present on the dais.
