Mangaluru: Forum Purple Run initiative to raise awareness on Alzheimer’s scheduled on Sep 15

Mangaluru, Sep 5: Forum Fiza mall on September 15 will conduct the third edition of 'Forum Purple Run'. This is a run in India to raise awareness on Alzheimer’s across eight Forum malls in six cities namely Mangaluru, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mysuru, Udaipur and Chennai simultaneously for a single cause.

The primary focus of 'Forum Purple Run' mission is to raise awareness on Alzheimer’s and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health. Their vision is a world without Alzheimer’s. Alzheimer’s is a progressive and irreversible neurological disorder that impairs basic neurological functioning.

The event is supported by Nippon Paints, Kanara TMT, S L Shet Jewellers & Diamonds, Katalytz Entertainment, McDonald’s, KMC Hospital, Let’z Party, Ground Sports Fitness, Skywalker’s Films, Evergreen apparels, PAGE Mangalore.

Besides this, Mangaluru city police has offered complete support for this cause.

The Purple Run offers a running distances of 3 km fun run, 5 km and 10 km giving each participant an opportunity to contribute to a cause of their choice.

Fayaz M H, centre manager, Forum Fiza mall stated, "This year we hope to make a change by pledging along with 30,000 participants across Forum properties to remove the stigma against mental health. Proceeds from this noble cause will be donated to People’s Association for Geriatric empowerment (PAGE) Mangaluru.
