Udupi: Police get body warrant from court to take custody of fraudster Swaroop Shetty

Udupi, Aug 30: Manipal police have taken body warratn from the court to take custody of Swaroop Shetty (23), who is in prison on the accusation of blackmailing his friends and their parents to the tune of lacs of rupees.

Padubidri police had arrested Swaroop based on the blackmail and cheating case that was registered against the fraudster. The court had remanded Swaroop tojudicial custody till September 6. Later a complaint was filed against Swaroop in the Manipal police station also. Moreover, police had registered one more case on him as they found ganja in his flat. The Manipal police had appealed for body warrant to investigate Swaroop in this case and the same is sanctioned by the court on Thursday, August 29.

In the midst of this development, it is learnt that SP of the district Nisha James had conducted an inquiry of the police officer, whom the fraudster Swaroop was boasting with his friends of having good connection.
