Mangaluru, Aug 19: The inauguration ceremony of Kalakulostav - 2019, organized by professional Konkani drama repertory Kalakul was held on Saturday, August 17 at the LCRI auditorium of St Aloysius College in the city.
Fr Vincent Pinto, financial officer of the organization inaugurated the programme by beating the Chende drum. Physics lecturer Lawrence Pinto, President of Mandd Sobhann Louis Pinto, secretary Kishore Fernandes, president of college drama association Sudha Kumari, lecturer of journalism department and drama trainer Bhavya were present on the dais. The guests were felicitated by giving books to them.
After the stage programme was over, Antigone drama by Sophocles, which was translated to Konkani by Arun Raj Rodrigues and directed by Viddu Uchil was presented to the audience. The artistes included Sushmita Tauro, Manish Pinto, Flavia Mascarenhas, Savita Saldanha, Amrin D'Souza, Jeevan Siddi, Shravan Baliga and Renold Lobo. Gurumurthy V S provided the music.
The second drama of Kalakulotsav 'Paying Guest' will be played on August 25 at 6.30 pm at the auditorium of Vamanjoor church.
