Udupi, Jun 17: The office of MP D V Sadananda Gowda situated within the premises of Deputy Commissioner’s office here was inaugurated on Tuesday June 16. State home minister and district in-charge Dr V S Acharya inaugurated the office.
Addressing media persons after inaugural function, D V said that the office was set up to facilitate public through hearing of grievances and making available timely government grants as well as to hold meeting of MPs. “I will be available in the office once in a week compulsorily and hear grievances and complaints of the public. Thus, I will strive for overall development of the region,” he assured.
D V said that he aims to put in his best efforts to solve problems of the region such as tribulations of fishermen, sea erosion, rail route between Karwar-Mangalore and four-lane road works, wherever required through due discussions in the Lok Sabha. He also assured that he will try to find solutions to problems of toddy-tappers and arecanut farmers after hearing their grievances.
Further, he assured of holding monthly meeting with the participation of Dr Acharya, MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary, MLAs Raghupathi Bhat and Lalaji Mendon in the coming days and chalk out action plan for the development of the region. The development works undertaken will also be reviewed, he said.
