New Delhi, Jun 16: Just after Team India coach Gary Kirsten raised hands at the Indian Premier league (IPL) for the team's early exit from the T20 World Cup, Indian Board came out with sharp criticism of the coach.
Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BBCI) media and finance committee chairman Rajiv Shukla said players have the choice and they know about the schedule.
"If any player is not fit or injured, he should inform the board; we have enough replacements," said Shukla.
Meanwhile the IPL franchises also sharply criticised the coach for his remarks on the IPL.
Mumbai Indians coach Praveen Amre said, "Gary Kirsten wouldn't have blamed the IPL, had India defeated England."
Kolkata Knight Riders coach John Buchanan said, "IPL was a good preparation before the T20 World Cup."
