Udit Raj backs stronger retaliation, CWC reaffirms Pakistan’s guilt

New Delhi, Apr 24: Congress leader Udit Raj lauded the government’s five point response to Pakistan following the Pahalgam massacre but urged even harsher measures against the “rogue nation.” Speaking to IANS, he endorsed halting Indus water flows, sealing Attari, visa suspensions, and diplomatic reductions—while insisting that “stronger actions are the need of the hour.”

“If the government decides to go further, we stand fully behind it,” Udit Raj asserted. “Mere border closures and water suspensions won’t suffice; Pakistan must feel the cost of its terror sponsorship.”

Meanwhile, the Congress Working Committee (CWC) adopted a resolution denouncing the April?22 attack—where 26 tourists and one Nepali national were shot after being identified as Hindus—as a “cowardly and calculated act of terror” orchestrated by Pakistan. The CWC called for calm, unity, and an unwavering commitment to combat cross border terrorism.

“We appeal for calm in the face of this grave provocation and reaffirm our collective strength,” stated the CWC, reiterating Congress’s pledge to stand resolute against any attempt to inflame communal passions.
