Bangalore, Jun 16 (DHNS): It seems Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa has decided to drop Women and Child Welfare Minister Narendra Swamy from the State Cabinet. Swamy is an independent MLA who helped the chief minister reach the required number to hold the reins of administration a year ago.
The sacrifice is likely to be made to accommodate V Somanna, who quit the Congress to join the BJP during the Lok Sabha elections. If sources are to be believed, Somanna is likely to be sworn in as the minister around 9 am on Thursday. But there was no official communication to this effect.
Sources said the chief minister and the BJP are in a hurry to give ministerial berth to Somanna, who was an MLA from Govindarajnagar, so that he can work for the party during the upcoming BBMP elections.
