Mangaluru: 'Savayava-2019' inaugurated at SAC

Mangaluru, Jul 9: The inauguration and formal launching of the annual theme, 'Savayava-2019' was held on Monday July 8 in the L F Rasquinha Hall, LCRI block.

The year-long activities on 'Savayava - 2019', the focus areas of all the activities of the campus was formally inaugurated by Swasthik Padma, one of the youngest innovators and inter-disciplinary researchers who has received accolades at the national and international levels. He delivered the keynote address on the theme and shared his experiments in the field of Science. He also advised the students to think out of the box and believe in 'Less is More'.

Fr Dionysius Vaz, SJ, rector, St Aloysius Institutions presided over the launching ceremony. He thanked Swastik Padma for his scientific innovations and display of lateral thinking. He also insisted that students be like Swasthik Padma and try to discover something new that makes a difference.



Principal, Dr Praveen Martis, SJ graced the occasion and explained the importance of the unique idea and its relevance. He said that the biggest threat in the world is the thinking that 'Someone else will save it'. He advised students to live with 3-Cs – Connect, Cultivate and Contribute.

Dr Lyned Dafny Lasrado briefed about the theme and plans of the Innovation Cell which was introduced this year.

Staff, students, parents and alumni were present during the launching of this unique initiative.

Melita compered the programme. Lloyd Vineeth Saldanha welcomed the gathering. Roopal D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks.
