Udupi, Jul 7: An elderly woman, who was living alone, was murdered and gold ornaments were taken by the murderers. This incident is reported from the Puttur Subramanya Nagar near here.
Ratnavati G Shetty (80), a resident of fifth cross near Subramanya temple is the unfortunate victim who was murdered.
This incident came to light on the late night of Friday. The body of the woman is decomposed.
Police are suspecting that she might have been killed at least four days ago.
Suprabha, daughter of the deceased woman, told the police that the murder might have taken place between 3 pm of July 2 and 8.30 pm of July 5. Ratnavati Shetty, who was sleeping in the bedroom of her house, was murdered and the gold chain, bangles and earrings were looted by the killers, as per the complaint filed with the police.
The exact value of the stolen things is still not available.
A young couple, who were staying in the house on rent, is suspected to be involved in this crime.
