New Delhi, May 13: BJP’s Varun Gandhi has moved the Supreme Court seeking quashing of the National Security Act provision invoked against him.
The apex court is to hear the plea on Thursday along with the UP government’s plea challenging revocation of the NSA against Varun by the UP Advisory Board.
Varun, BJP’s candidate from Pilibhit for the Lok Sabha polls, was charged with making hostile remarks against a religious community.
Varun was let off by a three-member state advisory board headed by senior judge of the Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court Justice Pradeep Kant which went into the maintainability of Varun's detention by the UP government under the NSA imposed on March 29.
