Kundapur, Jun 17: Students of Computer Science and Engineering department, Manjunath P M, Gurucharan, Shwetha and Sandesh Hegde from Moodlakatte Institute of Technology, here, developed a project called AgriDoc.
The project was guided by Prof Melwin D’Souza, head of Computer Science department.
AgriDoc is an Agriculture Doctor which will monitor the agricultural land daily by checking leaf colour of the crop grown and takes the required measures to prevent the disease by spraying pesticide/fertilizer across the field. It also checks the soil health based on moisture level and Ph level. Everything the AgriDoc does will be prompted to the farmer by a AgriDoc mobile application. He can also access the data using the AgriDoc website 'www.agridoc.co.in'.
The robot will also prompt the farmer about the diseases on mobile application as well as on website. It monitors the farm day and night.
Students presented the paper on this project in state level competition and were awarded prizes. They published their paper on AgriDoc at the international conference held at Bengaluru and was certified as the best research paper. Students participated in the project competition conducted by BITES and entered the final round. The final round dates will be announced shortly.
Prof Prashanth Acharya of Mechanical Engineering department supported to build the body of the robot.
