Bengaluru, Jun 8: In an attempt to put a series of controversies to rest that have rocked the one-year old JD(S)-Congress government in Karnataka, chief minister H D Kumaraswamy has decided to take up the much-awaited expansion of state cabinet expansion.
The chief minister in a tweet said that he met Governor Vajubhai Vala and sought time for Cabinet expansion on June 12.
Senior leaders and party workers revealed that two independent legislators R Shankar and H Nagesh will be added to the Kumaraswamy-led Karnataka government to temporarily quell threat to the stability of the ruling coalition.
The induction of independents will also keep the BJP from increasing its strength in the lower house of the state legislature, it is said.
